Harry Zlokower, President

Harry founded Zlokower Company in 1983 after a decade as vice president with several prominent public relations agencies. Over the course of more than 30 years in public relations, he has served a diverse group of companies, organizations and individuals, encompassing business-to-business and consumer public relations, investor relations, and public affairs. Harry’s clients have ranged from automobile and computer manufacturers to professional service firms, law and healthcare providers, real estate developers, entertainers and authors.  Harry is a skilled writer, publicist and counselor. He is vice president of the New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-NY). Harry earned his BA from Dartmouth College and served on the editorial board of The Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. He has an MA in English from New York University and an MBA in management from Baruch College, City University of New York. Prior to entering public relations, Harry was a news assistant on the metropolitan desk of The New York Times.

Gail Horowitz, Senior Vice President

Gail was an award-winning reporter for the Westchester Journal News (Gannett) for 11 years where she covered urban affairs and the “Media” itself. She also owned and operated her own public relations firm for 10 years representing clients in real estate, consumer products, fitness/health and education.

Gail joined Zlokower Company in 2005. She handles a broad section of clients including the real estate group which has residential and commercial lenders, developers, owners, investors, brokers and consultants.

Over the last four years, Gail developed public relations/ marketing campaigns for some of the city’s newest luxury condominium developments and boutique hotels including The Aurora in Manhattan, The Onyx Chelsea, The Lenox, Fifth on the Park, Observatory Place, SOHA 118, Brownstone Two, The Switch Building, WINDOWS ON 123, Crescent Club in Long Island City and The Hotel on 46th.

At Zlokower Gail works closely with clients to develop interesting, unique real life stories that help brand companies and individuals. As a former “TV and media” journalist Gail understands what it takes to get the attention of print and broadcast media and online/blogs. Gail knows “lt will always be about the story.”

Gail has a B.A. in journalism from New York University and credits towards a masters in urban affairs and policy analysis from the New School.

Dave Closs, Vice President

Dave joined Zlokower in 2001 from Financial Relations Board, a large Chicago-based financial public relations firm where he was media specialist for publicly traded companies. Dave is an expert publicist with over 25 years experience. He has made major contributions to the growth and success of Zlokower Company and has strong contacts and knowledge of the media.

Dave has managed a large national and international program for Equis Corporation, Chicago-based commercial real estate firm, as well as PR for InsWeb, the online insurance marketplace, Equity Now, a mortgage banker, Commercial Tenant Real Estate Representation (CTRR), and Clean Rite Centers, a super laundromat chain. Other clients include Medallion Financial Corporation, a leading taxi cab and small business lender, Carrier Logistics, a software provider to the trucking industry, General Patent Corporation, a technology patent enforcement firm, HMS Associates, an appraisal firm, and the law firms, Hofheimer Gartlir & Gross and Cohen & Perfetto.

Dave is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan and has an MBA from Roosevelt University, Chicago.
